Day 13

Restults + 1.5

I am skipping a day because I did start one tournament yesterday, but the power went out about 15 mins into it. Today started out ruff. I went out quikly in the fist two sngs. Then The cards came my why. I took out two people with in 7hands and what up arround 4,500 for most of the tournament. It dragged on forever. All the player were so tight and I did not preasure them that mutch. Yet when the bubble burst it took maybe 10 hands to finish the tournament because the blinds were so high and yours truly was Victorious. It realy sucks that the power went out I was running quite well in the tournament I was in. O well thats the danger of playing online.

In other news Muse is releasing an album in July 11, I have already listened to it on MySpace and its awsome. So I am really looking forward to getting it.

Day 11

Results -$5.50

Not to mutch to talk about only played one single sng. I got 4th. Tournament was going fast and I was short stacked with 4 to go. I got impatient and read my apponent for a draw and made a move and got caught. I think if I would of waited for a hand I could of easly made the money. It was really fun playing agressive though.

Day 10

Results - $2.00

Only played 2 single table sit n gos. Placed 4th (the bubble ) in the first. Never got anything going lost alot when I made a bluff at a pot and guy called me with A high(guess I bet to fast or something). Took 3rd in my second tournie. This day felt like I could of been a really good day if only a few hands had gone my way. I was very relaxed even after the frustraiting first tournament. I kind of want to play more but I think I will stay up and watch the live up dates of the Tournaments of Champions.

The WSOP officially started today I am curious to see if this affects the traffic of online poker.

In other news I recently ordered like 5 poker books and they should be here tommorro. Going to be spending my evenings Reading, Playing and Dreaming poker.

Day 9

Results - $7.72

Even though I ended down today felt fairly good about it. I was playing good and cashed in a single table tournie as well as a multi table tournie. Made it perty deep in that one 163 out of 1500. Would of cashed in another single but took a couple suck outs. So all in all some days you can play your best and still not come out on top thats poker. Back to the grind tommorro.

Day 8

Results + $8.00

After work my Aunt and I went to go watch X3 awsome movie. Then after that I ended up playing one tournament before bed. I got 2nd so fairly good. I sucked out twice in the tourniement so I was kinda lucky to make the money, but I also took a bad suck out so fair is fair. In conclusion my suckouts got me down to 5 players and then it was my play that got me to the money and a 2nd place. Almsot took 1st but thats another story. Tommorro my Aunt and I are going to the renactment of the Little Big Horn battle. So I might not play tommorro. I need a break anyway. I shouldn't be thinking this much before bed.

Day 7

Results + $6.00

Kind of a mixed day in the first tournament I played great and the cards were coming. With 3 players left I had 10K which left the other 2 to share about 4k in the end I took it down with ease. Then I think I got too confident in the next I took a bad beat that lost me about 1/3 my chips. I tried to gain the back to quilky and ended up tying to bluffing KK. Then in the next I was doing great then I fell for a trap were my apponent called my bet on a flop of K 8 5 I felt he was drawing. I had Kd7d. The next card was a Jd he lead out with an instant over bet and it fooled me into thinking he was trying to steal. I raised all in thinking he would fold and if he did have me beat my diamond draw might hit. He called with bottom set and I missed my flush. The play I feel was ok but not at that point in the tournament. I still have a pride issue and didn't want to let the hand go. I had 3k and the blinds were only 15/30 so it was a baldy timed move. I had a fairly tight image and was getting alot of respect so I felt I could of easly cashed if not won it.

So lessons learned beware the over bet and stay out of big pot situations early unless I have much bigger hand than K crappy kicker.

Day 6

Resutls + $6.00

I think I have discovered a strategy. Be patient. For the last 4 or 5 sng's I have been card dead. I might still see AK or AQ but maybe once a tournament and never within a couple of hands of another big hand. So I could never really get anyting going and when out on coinflip in my first tournament. Then in the second I was still card dead so when I finally flopped a pair of K's I eventually when all in with them but was out kicked. Then the third I was STILL card dead, but I decided to be patient and didn't really try any moves because the table I was at was calling down with lots of junk. So eventually I came allive with 5 players left and went on to win the tournament. Ya hopefully the drought is over and I can get some better cards tommorro.

In conclusion in the first two tournaments I won a grand total of 5 hands out of like 90 played. So it felt really good to take one down and have a + day. I almost played a 4th but decided to end on a good note!

Day 5

Results - $7.5

And the land slide continues. Day started of ok. I cashed but took 3rd. I was down to 3oo chips at one point, but got a couple of hands when I needed them was the chip leader, but I dicided to coinflip which given the blinds I could of waited and as a result I went out 3rd. Next game I was cold decked and I feel like I haven't had any hands for the last few games. So when I flopped a pair of Q's with KQ I pushed hard and ran into AQ and just as I was about to make a comeback my QQ lost to AJ(A on the turn). Now I could of played KQ more conservatively, but the board had lots of draws and he just called my initial bet I felt if he had AQ he would of raised on the flop, but that wasn't the case. In the last match even though I was steaming I was still playing good. Still hadn't seen may hands then I limped in with K10 the flop came 5,7,10 small blind min bet, BB called(At this level this is obvious that either they both have draws or one has a draw and one has a 7 or 5. So I rase to 200. only the BB calls. I latter learn he has 86 (DRAW) wich is exactly what I put him on. Therefore I bet the pot hoping to push him out of the pot no such luck. The turn comes 8 followed by a 4 on the river completeting his straight. I didn't have enought to really fold even thought I knew he had the straight. So that ended my night. I wanted to jump into one last tournie soooooooooooooooo bad, but I have to control my self because unless I got some big hands I was just going to throw my chips away on stupid calls and all in moves. Maybe tommorro I will have a little more luck.

Day 4

Restults - $16.5

Well the day I feared is here. Well I don't feel like I played well. Yet this is poker so maybe it is the cards. So to find out you take a step back and think. Analysis = bad play sort of. In the first sit and go(my sis has asked me to spell things out) I went out on a semi bluff. The other player was playing his hand weak. It didn't feel like he had more than two face cards but he actually had an over pair. (to cards of same rank higher than any card on the board). On the turn I pushed all in with an inside straight draw and second high flush draw. He made a good call and I missed. In this match the play wasn't that bad I was about 40% to win if he called and I was about 80% sure he would fold. My timing may have been off though. Players gamble early. This move proble would of worked if the table was down to about 4 or 5 players and the money was on the line.
The next sit n go I my apponent was again playing weak, but was again willing to call down for just about any price. I acutally believed I was good with second pair. This is very frustraiting because the players bet in a manner that says they arn't willing to put all there chips in the middle but then they are willing to call off all their chips(I hate this style of play) and its not like they are trapping (they arn't trying to get you to put more chips in the middle). Let me explain you win chips in this game buy betting when you think you are wining or can win by stealing the pot. These players believe they have the best hand but aren't willing to bet its not a winning mentality. Any way I wasn't crippled, but I couldn't rebuild my stack and when the blinds got high I lost when my A 10 lost to JJ.
In the third I misplayed my second hand any refused to believe I let a guy hit his inside straight and paid him off. I amost came back in this but when it looked like I might come back my straight was destroyed when the board paird and gave my apponent a full house. So it was a tough day and I really only have my play to blame.

The most frustraighting thing is that I knew the player in the third game had an inside draw and I let him draw to it. Well tommorro is a new day with new lessons learned. Hasta.

Day 3

Results + $7.26

Wow what a wierd day. It started off pretty well. In my first sng I was chip leader with 3 to go, but went on tilt after taking a bad beat. This lead to a 3rd place finish and then two losses. I played a Mulit table $2, but in order to go any wear in that tournament you have to be lucky. I went out pretty early. I was about to log off and record a loss of about $9 but in my last tournie someone was talking about the new Poker Stars Beta. So I downloaded it and just had to play one last tournie. When it got down to 4 players my tight image allowed me to push the table around. After the bubble burst the tournament was over in 5 minuets. Lesson today is that as long as I'm not on tilt my persistance will allow me to be very consitant and continue to win.

On a small side note. I purposfully lost $0.04 to round off the numbers.

I also went with my Aunt to watch the Da Vinci Code. I was enterained and enjoyed the movie, but I don't understand what the big deal is.

Feel confindent. Its a good start. Up to now I have played 6 $5 sng's cashed in 3 and took 1st in 2 of those three. I may not get the chance to play tommorro my Aunt has lots of work planed for us.

Day 1

Results + $20.24

Tonight I played 4 $5 sng's I started of good with a second place finish. I was then knocked out of the next 2. In the last game I almost lost to what I think was a bad call. (I would love to hear another players opion.) In the hand a fairly agressive player in Early Position min raised to $300 we each had about 3k. I was in the big blind with AQ suited. the small blind called and I raised to $900. The original raiser called the small blind folded. The flop came J rag rag. I led out and put my whole stack in. The raiser immediatly called and fipped over KJ. Now I feel this was a bad preflop call because the only other time I had reraised preflopped I showed down QQ. I also had been playing very tight. This would only leave him with at best 3 outs. Whatever his justification for calling preflop in the end I got lucky and spiked an A on the river.(I also had a flush draw clubs.) This gave me a 6.5 k which was almost half the chips in play. Needless to say I took the rest of the tournament down without too much trouble.

In closing I feel that I played really well, but I don't know if I will be able to play 4 a night. One thing I might mention is that in my first match I picked up a definent tell. The opposing player would always reraise me if he held a pair. If an ace hit the board I would either bet out or reraise his bet all in and he released the hand every time. The only reason he won (and he admited this in the chat) is that when I reraised his bluff (I was bluffing and knew he would fold) all in, and he said he hit the wrong button an accidently called and beat my high J with a pair of 1o's he caught on the turn. O well thats poker. Tommorro I will play during the day, but at night I'm going parting with my coworkers(all over 30) WHOOOO.

Goal #1

Before I started this blog I had almost lost my entire bank roll. In early April combined tournamebt success as well as some small cash game sucess had grown my bank roll from $200 to $1400 in one week. I was very confident and very stupid. I cashed out half of my bank roll and then precided to slowly bleed off the rest till I hit bottom at $15. Since then I have reverted to my original strategy of only playing$5 sng's on Poker Stars untill I reached $200 and then move up to $10 sng's. I have recovered a little to stand currently at $44. I believe I am a winning player in fact I have only put in about $400 into poker sites which after the above cash out, leaves me up all time, but not by much.

Enter the goal I am going to set a goal of $1000 by August 3rd. (My 21 st Birthday) This may seem extreme given my curent bank role, but I consider it plausable. The reason for the $1000 goal is that on the end day of the goal is a WSOP event $1000 buy in NLHL. My current job won't allow me to play in the event , but if would be nice to now I have the bank roll to play it.
